Can I Brag On My Lord?: Should We Move On?

I’ve kept up with the Trayvon Martin saga from the beginning. Like many of you I watched the news coverage, read the articles, and talked about it with friends. It dominated public conversation and provoked a much needed discussion about race in America. The ugly reality of racism was pushed in…

Grow it!!

A lot of you have been asking me about my hair regimen and tips, but it’s honestly just too much to post in an Instagram comment lol. I considered doing YouTube videos, but there are already so many YouTubers who I learned from so I really don’t see or feel the need. Anywho…getting right into it..

  1. Wash with Creme of Nature Kiwi & Citrus Shampoo
  2. Deep condition (weekly) with a mixture of coconut oil, Silk Elements Hair Mayonnaise, Creme of Nature Chamomile & Comfrey, & Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. {most times I sit under the dryer for 15 minutes with a shower cap. If not, then I’ll let it sit on my hair for 30-45 minutes}
  3. Apply Cantu Shea Butter Leave-In Conditioner as well as Aussie Split-End Protector
  4. Comb through hair with a wide toothed comb. Then detangle with detangling comb (the ones with two sets of teeth)
  5. Moisturize with aloe vera juice mixture (1/2 c. aloe vera juice and 1 c. water). Comb through and seal my hair with coconut oil.

After doing all of that, I’ll style my hair. I’ll normally braid it up and wear a braid out for the week, or wear buns. I RARELY use heat. I only put heat on my hair maybe once every 1-2 months. You don’t have to be so bougie with what you put in your hair like I am (i.e. aloe vera juice and coconut oil lol). My hair isn’t completely relaxed. I still have a lot of texture, so my hair is a lot drier than most people’s. I’ve noticed a HUGE difference since I’ve been using the AVJ and coconut oil. My hair stays so soft. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what product you put in your hair. I didn’t notice and length retention until I started doing no heat challenges. Basically, I would see how long I could go without putting heat in my hair. I started doing that in May and it’s now October and my hair has grown inches. If you keep your hair moisturized, take care of your ends, and keep heat off of it then it will grow. I PROMISE!!

Note: This is what works for ME! I’m a recovering product junkie, so I’ve tried LOTS of different products. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have. ALSO…if you have time, check out these YouTubers. They’re videos have helped me SO MUCH!!
